Thom Eberhardt’s Sole Survivor Gets DVD Release

SSCoverart
Sole Survivor

Way back in March 2007, nightofthecomet.info reported that Thom Eberhart’s horror/thriller Sole Survivor was rumoured to be getting a DVD release. We can now report that the release date has been set for 1 April 2008. Originally released in 1983, Sole Survivor was Night of the Comet Director Thom Eberhardt’s writing and directing debut. A pre-cursor to the more recent Final DestinationSole Survivor tells the tale of a sole survivor of an airplane crash. However, the survivor cheated death, and the grim reaper is out to even the score. The DVD features a 16×9 transfer from the original IP and special features include an audio commentary with the star Caren Larkey, Producer Sal Romeo, moderated by Jeff McKay and cult horror director Jeff Burr, on camera interview with Caren Larkey and Sal Romeo, original theatrical trailer, and a liner note by NIGHTMARE USA author Stephen Thrower.

Both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk have the DVD available for pre-order. You can also read the official Code Red DVD press release here.

A recently discovered Romanian version of the Night of the Comet poster has been added to the Memorabilia section of the site. The poster is unlike all the other NOTC posters and features a very striking design. To avoid the cost of shipping in posters, the Romanians would frequently commission their own artwork.
